WeldFit uses PV Elite® to design extremely tall process tower

WeldFit Energy Group, a manufacturer of oil and gas equipment, faced significant engineering challenges in designing an extremely tall 140-foot process tower. The project required overcoming high wind loading, creating a safe rigging plan for erection, and ensuring the vessel could withstand a 1,000-mile transport. To address these complex design needs, they turned to vendor Hexagon and utilized its PV Elite® software.

Hexagon's PV Elite provided an integrated solution that streamlined the entire design process. The software enabled iterative analysis to quickly solve for wind deflection, performed critical calculations for trunnion-based lifting, and analyzed stresses for transportation. This resulted in a successfully fabricated and transported vessel. The intuitiveness of Hexagon's software also reduced required training time by one week, allowing for nearly instant employee productivity and more accurate project quoting.
