A Hexagon Case Study
The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) sought to analyze the performance of a semi-active seat suspension system using a new magneto-rheological (MR) damper. The challenge was that creating and testing a physical prototype of this complex automotive system was prohibitively expensive and cumbersome.
Hexagon addressed this challenge with its Adams multibody dynamics simulation software. The solution enabled students to perform virtual prototyping and testing, allowing them to build and scrutinize their design with a PID controller cost-effectively before any physical build. Hexagon's software provided the tools to model the system graphically and simulate its realistic motion behavior, leading to a successful investigation into improving dynamic passenger comfort.
