VGF selected Hexagon’s CAD system to strengthen its safety and security IT infrastructure and operations

Stadtwerke Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main mbH (VGF), the public transportation provider for Frankfurt, needed to enhance passenger safety by improving its emergency response capabilities. The challenge was to directly link its existing surveillance systems with incident management to enable faster and more coordinated reactions to threats. To address this, VGF selected Hexagon's computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system through a tender process.

Hexagon's solution integrated VGF's SOS emergency pillars and extensive video surveillance network into the CAD platform. This provided dispatchers with live audio and video during incidents, enabling them to better assess situations and dispatch the appropriate response from security officers or emergency services. The implementation of Hexagon's mobile dispatch app further improved real-time communication and location tracking for officers in the field. As a result, VGF can now detect and respond to emergencies more effectively, significantly improving safety for its millions of annual passengers and facilitating better collaboration with external first responders.
