Vemec, a manufacturer of large welded steel components, faced a challenge in ensuring high-quality measurement and efficient production of parts too large for their existing equipment. To keep manufacturing in-house and meet customer demand, they sought a reliable production and measurement system from vendor Hexagon.

Hexagon implemented its DELTA gantry-type CMM, which measures parts up to 8.5 meters with high accuracy. This solution eliminated the need for repeated rework, enabling a right-first-time approach that gained Vemec an extra production shift. The intuitive PC-DMIS software streamlined the measurement process. As a result, Hexagon's technology allowed Vemec to enter new markets for high-precision machine tools, boosting both productivity and quality.
