Tridan Engineering, an engineering subcontractor in the aerospace and motorsport sectors, faced challenges related to demanding turnaround times and ultra-tight tolerances from their customers. To enhance their 5-axis machining capabilities and achieve a "Done In One" manufacturing process without additional setups, they turned to the vendor Hexagon and implemented their EDGECAM software.

The solution from Hexagon involved using EDGECAM to program 16 CNC machines, utilizing its Waveform Roughing Strategy to optimize toolpaths and enable high-speed, full-flute cutting. This allowed Tridan to dramatically increase feed rates, achieve a consistent 2-micron tolerance, and enable lights-out machining, resulting in faster cycle times and the ability to ship approximately 9,000 parts per month.
