The Rohde Schwarz factory at Teisnach opts for one software for all 3D measuring devices

Rohde & Schwarz needed a flexible and efficient quality assurance solution for its extensive manufacturing processes at its Teisnach factory. The challenge was to manage a diverse fleet of 3D measuring devices, including optical, tactile, and multi-sensor systems, without creating software bottlenecks or extensive training overhead. They sought a single software platform to unify this equipment, turning to vendor Hexagon for a solution.

Hexagon implemented its PC-DMIS software to operate all of their varied 3D measuring instruments from a single, unified platform. This allowed metrology engineers to program measurements offline using CAD data early in the production process and enabled operators to switch between different machines easily. The solution from Hexagon reduced part throughput times by up to 30 percent and provided the necessary flexibility to measure a wide array of parts with extreme precision, with plans to integrate future systems into the same software landscape.
