South Tyrol Civil Protection Agency Improves Incident Response with Computer-Aided Dispatch

The South Tyrol Civil Protection Agency, responsible for public safety in Italy's northern Alpine province, required a flawlessly coordinated response system for its numerous emergency services to handle over 66,000 annual incidents. To meet this challenge, the agency implemented industry-leading computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software from vendor Hexagon.

Hexagon’s solution provided an integrated command and control center, enabling dispatchers to quickly locate incidents and alert the nearest and most suitable personnel according to pre-defined plans. This ensured rapid response times and standardized operations. The results included efficient coordination between vast resources, cost savings from a shared server, and a resilient system with full redundancy. Hexagon's adaptable platform also supported future upgrades, including a bilingual interface and the transition to a national emergency call number.
