Case Study: Slovnaft modernizes network inventory and improves safety with Hexagon

Slovakian refinery employs Hexagon’s geospatial asset management system

Slovakian petrochemical company Slovnaft faced a significant challenge with its outdated network inventory system, which was over 25 years old and only 40% digitized. This lack of a complete digital overview of its critical telecommunications infrastructure made maintenance difficult and posed safety risks at its complex refinery. To address this, Slovnaft partnered with vendor Hexagon to implement HxGN NetWorks, a geospatial asset management system.

Hexagon built a modern telecommunications GIS for Slovnaft, creating a complete digital map of the network with full tracing and analysis capabilities. The solution provided Slovnaft with a full overview of its infrastructure, enabling faster fault location and repair, which reduces downtime and enhances operational safety. The company also utilized Hexagon's M.App Enterprise to improve safety processes by monitoring fire extinguishers and mapping water sources. According Slovnaft's senior network architect, the Hexagon solution saves time and costs while making network maintenance much easier.
