SB SETEC Achieves Increased Efficiency and Accuracy in the Planning and Execution of EPC Projects with Hexagon CADWorx Solutions

SB SETEC, an engineering and EPC service company, was challenged to execute a complex, time-sensitive revamp of a Sulfolane process plant for a client. They needed to accurately capture existing brownfield conditions and create an error-free redesign while reusing some equipment, all without affecting plant production. To overcome these obstacles, SB SETEC partnered with Hexagon and adopted their CADWorx plant design software and CAESAR II stress analysis software.

Hexagon's solutions enabled a fully digital workflow. Laser scanning with a Hexagon RTC360 captured as-built data, which was integrated into the CADWorx 3D design environment for modeling and clash detection. This integration, along with bidirectional data exchange with CAESAR II, streamlined the entire process. The project achieved an 80% reduction in survey time, increased accuracy in cost estimation, and delivered error-free fabrication models, allowing SB SETEC to meet the tight deadline successfully.
