Case Study: São Paulo Traffic Engineering Company achieves faster incident response with Hexagon

A Hexagon Case Study

Preview of the Traffic Engineering Company Case Study

São Paulo’s Traffic Engineering Company (CET) deploys Hexagon’s computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system to improve planning, operations and analysis

The Traffic Engineering Company (CET), responsible for managing the immense traffic flow in São Paulo, faced a significant challenge with its outdated dispatch system. The old system could not keep pace with over 13,000 daily incidents, lacked real-time visibility and mapping capabilities, and relied on radio and paper communications. To modernize its operations, CET partnered with Hexagon to implement a new computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.

Hexagon's solution provided CET with a georeferenced system that automated workflows and integrated with legacy systems. This enabled real-time information transmission between dispatchers and field agents, visualized incidents on a map, and made data available to 15 facilities across the city. The measurable impact was substantial, with the time required to repair a critical traffic light decreasing from hours to just a few minutes. Hexagon's system provided the data management and reporting tools necessary for CET to improve response times and plan future actions effectively.
