The customer, DEKRA, a leading expert organization, required a way to ensure technical compliance and fair competition for the DTM racing series by quickly and accurately measuring racing car dimensions against strict regulations at tracks around the world. The vendor, Hexagon, provided its ROMER Infinite 2.0 portable measuring arm to meet this challenge.

Hexagon's ROMER arm solution enabled the DEKRA team to perform highly reliable and reproducible dimensional checks directly at the race track. The portable arm was ready for use in minutes and could capture up to 100 specific points on a car, comparing them to original CAD data. This implementation gave the inspectors the precise data needed to enforce regulations in a sport where winners are decided by minuscule margins, ensuring safety and competitive equality for all teams.
