Case Study: EASA accelerates gearbox durability analysis with Hexagon’s Romax app

A Hexagon Case Study

Preview of the EASA Case Study

Romax partners with EASA to create new App for complex gearbox durability analysis

EASA, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, faced a challenge where its transmission specialists were a bottleneck. Designers and sales application engineers without deep CAE expertise relied on these specialists to perform complex gearbox durability analyses, slowing down the process of responding to customer requirements. To address this, they partnered with vendor Hexagon, utilizing its RomaxDESIGNER software and the EASA low-code platform to democratize access to this specialized analysis.

Hexagon's solution was the creation of a web application that automated the detailed analysis process. The app, built on the EASA platform, connects to validated RomaxDESIGNER models on a secure server, allowing users to simply select a gearbox design and input duty cycle data. This dramatically accelerated the analysis process, giving sales engineers autonomy and enabling the supplier to be more responsive while freeing up CAE experts to focus on innovation.
