Case Study: National Center of Cartography automates photogrammetry data processing with Hexagon

Romania’s National Center for Cartography uses the Integrated Cartography Data Management System, created by ICS Romania and built on multiple Hexagon technologies

The National Center of Cartography (CNC) in Romania, the cornerstone of the country's cartographic infrastructure, faced a challenge with its manual, time-consuming, and error-prone process for creating orthophoto maps. To meet the strict standards of a major national project, they turned to vendor Hexagon and its partner to implement an automated solution built on Hexagon technologies like M.App Enterprise and ERDAS APOLLO.

The solution Hexagon provided, the Integrated Cartography Data Management System, centralized data submission and validation. This automation streamlined workflows, leading to a 97% reduction in manual processes and an 80% reduction in the time needed to process data. These efficiencies accelerated project timelines, reduced operational costs from fewer errors, and enabled the CNC to manage over 2.5 petabytes of data for the project.
