RADAN helps HV Wooding prototype and manufacture essential ventilator parts

HV Wooding, an engineering subcontractor and long-term manufacturer of medical components, faced a monumental challenge when orders for ventilator heater plates doubled and they were urgently asked to prototype and produce critical parts for the Ventilator Challenge UK Consortium. To meet this demand and combat COVID-19, they relied on their existing solution from vendor Hexagon, the RADAN sheetmetal software.

Using Hexagon's RADAN software, HV Wooding condensed a month's worth of up-front programming and nesting work into just a few days. The solution enabled them to nest multiple parts in the most cost-effective and efficient way for their laser cutting technology. This allowed HV Wooding to successfully manufacture and deliver 2,000 sets of each of the three vital ventilator components in an extremely short timeframe, directly supporting the rapid production of life-saving equipment.
