A Hexagon Case Study
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission needed to improve the accuracy of its emergency dispatching and response across its extensive toll road network. Its legacy computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system used inefficient area zones and lacked ad hoc reporting capabilities. To overcome these challenges, the Commission partnered with Hexagon to implement a new CAD solution from Hexagon’s Safety & Infrastructure division.
Hexagon implemented a system that enabled precise tenth-mile-point responses and streamlined data loading, which was completed in weeks instead of years. This solution significantly improved dispatch efficiency and reduced incident response times for the Commission’s approximately 7,000 monthly incidents. Hexagon also provided custom services, training, and a business intelligence solution for automated reporting, leading to greatly increased operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
