Nortech Solutions Group Ltd., a UK-based oil and gas engineering firm, was selected to design a new liquefied gas plant for Jersey Gas to improve supply security. The project faced a tight schedule and was hampered by simplistic existing data models. Nortech turned to Hexagon, using solutions including CADWorx Plant Professional and CAESAR II, to achieve a clash-free design and automate the production of critical isometric drawings.
Hexagon's solutions enabled Nortech to create complex 3D and 2D designs, perform essential pipe stress analysis, and efficiently share models with the client. This interoperability lowered project costs and ensured on-time completion. The success led Nortech to implement Hexagon's CADWorx Plant Professional across the majority of its subsequent projects for various North Sea offshore facility upgrades.
