Non-parametric design from VISI benefits Brandauer’s 150-billion annual products

The customer, Brandauer, a precision stamping company, faced challenges with traditional parametric CAD systems that created massive, slow-to-process files and caused unintended changes across their complex tool designs. This was a significant obstacle for a company producing around 150 billion components annually. To address this, they turned to vendor Hexagon and implemented its VISI Progress software.

Hexagon's non-parametric VISI solution allowed Brandauer's designers to make precise changes without affecting other parts of a tool and eliminated file size issues. This was critical in developing high-precision tools, such as one for a power steering lead frame, ensuring they met all tolerances. The software became a fundamental part of their operation, enabling improved lead times and supporting the production of billions of precision components across automotive and medical industries.
