New Zealand Police Effectively Deploys 345 More Officers in the Field

The New Zealand Police, an existing Hexagon customer, needed a mobile solution to provide its first responders with critical, real-time data in the field. Their challenges included shifting to a more proactive policing model, increasing the number of officers on patrol, and improving data consistency and communication between the field and dispatchers.

Hexagon implemented its mobile application, which extended the capabilities of its computer-aided dispatch (CAD) solution to iPhones and iPads used by frontline officers. The solution saved an estimated half-hour per officer daily, equating to 520,000 hours annually and projected savings of NZ$300 million over 12 years. Hexagon's technology allowed the New Zealand Police to deploy 345 more officers into the field, reducing crime and enabling a new community-focused policing model.
