MGS Maufacturing Group - Customer Case Study

The customer, MGS Manufacturing Group, required a highly accurate inspection solution for its new injection moulding facility in Ireland to verify plastic parts for industries including electronics and medical. The challenge was to ensure process stability and dimensional consistency, requiring both contact and non-contact measurement capabilities. They chose to work with vendor Hexagon and its partner, Inspection Equipment Ltd., to address this need.

Hexagon implemented a solution consisting of two measurement systems: a DEA GLOBAL CMM and an Optiv Classic multi-sensor system. Both were powered by Hexagon's PC-DMIS software, which streamlined programming and integrated with statistical process control for analysis. This gave MGS a full range of inspection capabilities, easy transfer of tooling programs from its US facilities, and the confidence to expand its business, particularly into the demanding medical sector.
