Case Study: Marquardt improves automotive switch acoustics with Hexagon simulation

A Hexagon Case Study

Preview of the Marquardt Case Study

Marquardt - Customer Case Study

Marquardt, a leading German manufacturer of automotive switches, sought to enhance the acoustic performance of its products to meet increasing demands from automakers for premium sound and feel. They partnered with Hexagon’s acoustic experts to integrate acoustic simulation into their design validation process, aiming to understand how design changes affect sound without costly physical prototypes.

Hexagon implemented its Actran acoustic simulation software to analyze a Marquardt automotive switch. The solution provided valuable insights through sound propagation maps, directivity plots, and, crucially, sound files that allowed engineers to hear the virtual product. The collaboration was highly efficient, providing results that closely matched reality and successfully laying the groundwork for Marquardt to widely adopt acoustic simulation in future projects.
