Marin County Sheriff’s Office Upgrades Computer-Aided Dispatch System for Multi-Agency Support

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office outgrew its legacy computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system and needed a new solution to serve as a regional, multi-agency dispatching center. The challenge was finding a system that could accommodate the unique workflows of various police and fire departments and integrate with their different existing records management systems. They selected a CAD system from Hexagon to address this need.

Hexagon implemented its CAD solution, which included a mobile field application, enabling seamless integration with the multiple third-party systems used by different agencies. This integration was a key factor in consolidating operations, most notably allowing the Central Marin Police Authority to join the dispatching center. The solution provided improved mapping capabilities and data points for dispatchers and first responders, ensuring a successful cutover and meeting the needs of all partner agencies.
