Madhya Pradesh Police Improves Emergency Services with Integrated Suite of Public Safety Software

The Madhya Pradesh Police, a state police force in India, faced the challenge of managing public safety for over 75 million people without a unified emergency number or command system, causing slow and inefficient response times. To modernize its infrastructure, the police force partnered with vendor Hexagon to implement an integrated suite of public safety software, including computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and a mobile field application.

Hexagon's solution created a centralized "Dial 100" emergency response system, providing map-based dispatch, real-time field communications via mobile data terminals, and an integration platform. This implementation dramatically reduced police response times from hours down to under five minutes in urban areas, while also connecting remote areas to emergency services for the first time. The force now handles 100,000 calls daily, leading to increased public confidence in their safety and establishing a model for other Indian states to follow.
