Luciad Technology Used to Support NATO Air and Joint Operations Capability

The NATO Communications & Information Agency (NCIA) required technology to evolve its Integrated Command and Control software (ICC) beyond its initial Air Command and Control role to better support joint operations and enhance geospatial visualization for improved situational awareness. Hexagon's LuciadLightspeed provided the necessary upgrades, enabling ICC to handle many consecutive live data feeds and display a rich common operating picture. The solution processed over 10,000 air track updates every 300 milliseconds and integrated diverse data formats, significantly boosting situational awareness for commanders at all levels. This enhanced capability was critical for coalition operations and paved the way for future NATO systems, cementing Hexagon's role in the project's long-term success.
