Linde Engineering Experiences Higher Accuracy and Quality Control with Bi-Directional Interface between Intergraph Smart® 3D and CAESAR II®

Linde Engineering, a division of the Linde Group and a leading international plant contractor, faced challenges with inefficient data transfer between its piping design and stress analysis teams. Their workflow required manual re-entry of data between Hexagon's Intergraph Smart 3D design software and the CAESAR II pipe stress analysis tool, which was time-consuming and prone to errors.

Hexagon implemented a bi-directional PCF interface between Smart 3D and CAESAR II. This solution automated data transfer, eliminating manual re-entry and ensuring information remained up-to-date. As a result, Linde Engineering reduced the time spent creating pipe stress models by up to 50%, significantly improved accuracy between the CAD and stress models, and minimized errors, leading to major productivity gains.
