KonForm GmbH, an aluminum mold maker based in Germany, faced challenges with time-consuming quality checks and precision rework. To address the issue of verifying complex molds while still clamped in the machine, the company sought a solution for in-process measurement and tool setting, ultimately choosing to evaluate probes and software from Hexagon.

Hexagon implemented its 3D Form Inspect measurement software, touch probes with radio data transmission, and a wireless Tool Setter. This solution allowed KonForm to perform accurate five-axis measurements directly on the machine, drastically reducing rework, accelerating mold assembly, and enabling the automatic creation of measurement logs for customers. Hexagon's technology resulted in a more harmonious production process and a significant gain in overall accuracy.
