A Hexagon Case Study
Kiekert, a world-leading supplier of automotive locking systems, faced the challenge of managing a complex global supply flow from 350 vendors, requiring a uniform and high-quality incoming goods inspection process. To replace expensive and inconsistent methods, they partnered with vendor Hexagon to implement the Optiv Classic 321 GL multi-sensor measuring systems for a globally standardized solution.
The solution from Hexagon provided Kiekert with flexible, CNC-controlled 3D measuring machines that could be operated by non-specialists. This allowed for the automatic scanning of parts, seamless exchange of measuring programs between global factories, and immediate alerts for out-of-tolerance results. The implementation ensured consistent quality control, improved communication with suppliers, and created a scalable system that is being deployed to Kiekert's newest factories.
