A Hexagon Case Study
Johnson Controls, a manufacturer of automotive components in Slovenia, faced new quality measurement challenges after introducing an in-house production line for welding seat frames. To meet demanding tolerance requirements for its client Renault, the company needed to upgrade from manual measurement tools to a more precise and efficient system. They turned to their trusted vendor, Hexagon Metrology, for a solution.
Hexagon Metrology implemented a DEA GLOBAL Silver Performance CMM for inspecting components and later supplied a ROMER Absolute Arm portable measuring system for post-assembly checks. This combination of stationary and portable technology from Hexagon, both running on PC-DMIS software, significantly improved measurement accuracy, reduced inspection time, and minimized waste. The new, more ergonomic arm also streamlined a critical safety measurement process, ensuring repeatability and compliance with strict legal standards for vehicle seats.
