Turnell and Odell, a precision engineering company, needed to provide complete traceability for components supplied to the demanding nuclear industry to meet Fit For Nuclear accreditation standards. To achieve this, they turned to vendor Hexagon for a sophisticated production control solution, implementing the JAVELIN system alongside their existing EDGECAM CAD/CAM software.

Hexagon's JAVELIN system fully integrated Turnell and Odell's operations, providing the complete traceability required to become a major selling point for the company. The solution also improved overall production control. Additionally, the use of Hexagon's EDGECAM software, specifically its Waveform Roughing technique, halved roughing cycles on parts and significantly increased tool life, particularly when machining tough materials like stainless steel and titanium.
