Italdesign Giugiaro, a renowned Italian automotive and industrial design firm, faced challenges in its quality assurance process due to evolving safety standards and the limitations of its older coordinate measuring machine (CMM). The existing DEA DELTA CMM could not easily access all areas of prototype vehicle bodyshells for systematic inspection. To maintain its high standards for demanding automotive clients, Italdesign needed a state-of-the-art, dual-arm measurement system to perform fast and accurate dimensional analysis.

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence provided a solution with the installation of a dual-arm DEA BRAVO HP CMM. This horizontal measuring machine, equipped with continuous wrists, allowed Italdesign's metrology team to efficiently inspect hard-to-reach areas underneath and inside prototype vehicles. The new equipment from Hexagon optimized Italdesign's validation process, increasing data production and reducing measurement time.
