A Hexagon Case Study

Preview of the Gonzales Case Study

Inspection and auto inspection with the ROMER Absolute Arm

The customer Gonzales, a French industrial equipment manufacturer, needed to improve the precision of its dimensional inspection process and shift quality control from specialized metrologists to its machine operators. To meet more demanding contracts, they required a versatile and highly precise portable measuring solution that was simple enough for non-experts to use. They turned to vendor Hexagon for a solution.

Hexagon implemented its ROMER Absolute Arm with absolute encoders and user-friendly software. This portable measuring arm allowed Gonzales's machinists to perform precise auto-inspections directly on the workshop floor without disassembling parts, optimizing inspection time and integrating quality control into the manufacturing process. The solution was so successful that Gonzales plans to deploy the arms across its other sites, citing the partnership with Hexagon as crucial to its new quality strategy.
