High-quality data collection drives high-speed automated inspection processes

KaKue GmbH, a German measurement services specialist, partnered with Hexagon to automate its inspection processes, which were previously performed manually. The challenge was to increase process reliability and repeatability while achieving a higher throughput for its measurement services, particularly for automotive components.

The solution implemented by Hexagon involved an automated measurement cell featuring the Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 and the high-speed Absolute Scanner AS1, controlled by Nexos 4.0 software. This robot-assisted process allowed Hexagon's system to capture 1.2 million measurement points per second. The results were immediate, leading to significantly faster inspection speeds, higher process reliability, and greater repeatability for KaKue.
