A Hexagon Case Study
Primary Flow Signal, a manufacturer of flow measurement products, faced a challenge in performing accurate, large-scale measurements for large military contract parts. Their existing table CMMs were insufficient for items over 20 inches, and alternative solutions they researched were prohibitively expensive. This inability forced them to outsource inspections, leading to delays of weeks or months.
Partnering with Hexagon, PFS implemented a Romer Absolute Arm with Inspire inspection software. This portable solution provided the necessary precision for large-scale measurements in a dirty manufacturing environment. The results were transformative; PFS could now perform measurements in-house within minutes instead of waiting for an external provider. This new capability opened a significant revenue stream, as they could accept new business from clients who also needed large articles measured, all while delivering fast and accurate results for their customers.
