Case Study: Ralson Tyres achieves faster TBR tyre design validation with Hexagon simulation solutions

A Hexagon Case Study

Preview of the Ralson Tyres Case Study

Hexagon enabled superior non-linear analysis and high-speed simulations for truck and bus radial (TBR) tyre design validation

Ralson Tyres, a major producer and exporter of tyres in India, faced challenges in the design of its new truck and bus radial (TBR) tyres. Their team struggled with accurately modeling complex parameters like 2D-inflation, dynamic transient analysis, and predicting rolling resistance and noise. To overcome these challenges and support their expansion goals, they partnered with vendor Hexagon.

Utilizing Hexagon's Marc/Mentat and MSC Apex software, the team built a 3D finite element model to perform high-speed simulations. This allowed them to accurately predict rolling resistance, analyze the tyre footprint, and understand noise patterns with Actran. The solution from Hexagon enabled superior non-linear analysis, reduced computation time, and provided the design team with the data needed to make informed decisions, giving them greater confidence in their final product.
