Case Study: Nagoya Municipal Industrial Research Institute improves thermal analysis and measurement accuracy with Hexagon CFD tools

A Hexagon Case Study

Preview of the Nagoya Municipal Industrial Research Institute Case Study

Helping local companies solve thermal issues with CFD tools Validating analytical tools and test measurements to ensure accuracy

The Nagoya Municipal Industrial Research Institute (NMIRI) needed to provide advanced thermal analysis support to local small and medium-sized companies, particularly in the automotive and electronics sectors. To enhance their technical consulting services and validate their own measurement systems, they required accurate and user-friendly computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools. They turned to Hexagon's suite of Cradle software, including HeatDesigner and SC/Tetra, to meet this challenge.

By implementing Hexagon's Cradle CFD tools, NMIRI engineers were able to accurately design and validate critical systems, such as a novel device for measuring heat generation in electronic components. The software's flexibility and ease of use allowed for efficient comparison of cooling methods and improved the accuracy of their experimental measurements. This partnership with Hexagon enabled NMIRI to provide greater value to its clients, focus on advanced research, and establish itself as a key contributor in solving complex thermal design issues.
