A Hexagon Case Study
Alutec, a French specialist in aluminum foundry for the electrical and automotive sectors, faced a challenge with their outdated TESA measuring column. They needed a new measurement tool to guarantee quality, meet strict customer requirements, and increase productivity during the technical verification of newly industrialized parts. Their search for a solution led them to Hexagon Metrology.
Hexagon implemented its ROMER Multi Gage measuring arm, which was selected for its price-performance ratio, flexibility, and automatic sensor recognition. The solution allowed Alutec to monitor part compliance just 10 to 20 minutes after casting, drastically speeding up the process. The intuitive system was easily used by four trained employees, including those without metrology training. Hexagon's portable and evolving solution provided a significant advantage, opening up new applications for future use in machining and acceptance tests.
