A Hexagon Case Study

Preview of the Kassel Fire Brigade Case Study

Germany’s Kassel Fire Brigade aids refugee crisis with emergency planning and response solution

The Kassel Fire Brigade, an emergency response organization in Germany, faced the immense logistical challenge of coordinating the rapid arrival and shelter of thousands of refugees. To manage the complexity of providing immediate aid across multiple agencies, they leveraged their existing computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software from Hexagon and implemented Hexagon’s major event management software.

The web-based solution from Hexagon provided a central operating view to integrate information and resources, enabling efficient coordination between decentralized organizations. This allowed the Kassel Fire Brigade to rapidly mobilize resources, successfully sheltering 400 people in under eight hours. The software improved situational awareness and is now used to manage an average of 15-20 major events per month, ensuring comprehensive and immediate information sharing for all users.
