A Hexagon Case Study
Geberit AG, a European market leader in sanitary technology, faced a challenge with its disparate IT infrastructure. Three independent tool-making plants in Switzerland and Germany used different versions and modules of m&h's 3D Form Inspect software and touch probes, leading to compatibility issues and separate maintenance contracts. The goal was to standardize and harmonize this software environment across the group to reduce upkeep expenses and make better use of licences.
The solution from m&h, part of Hexagon, was the implementation of a centralized server licence for their 3D Form Inspect software. This made the same latest software version and all purchased modules available to all plants from a single server, eliminating version conflicts and the need for multiple licences. The results were significant time savings, enhanced precision, and greater flexibility. One plant reported saving up to three days per cavity on certain tasks, and the centralized system became more economical and efficient for the entire group.
