Fully automated robotic cell for integrated quality measurement

Isolit-Bravo, a Czech manufacturer of plastic injection moulds and tools, faced a challenge with a lack of experienced local manpower and a need to increase the efficiency and reduce errors in its production for the automotive industry. To tackle this, they partnered with vendor Hexagon to implement a fully automated robotic cell with integrated quality control.

The solution from Hexagon centered around a GLOBAL Shop Floor CMM integrated with PC-DMIS software and a robotic cell. This automated the measurement and data-sharing process, which allowed for continual adjustment of the machining operations. The results were profound, saving an estimated amount of time equivalent to seven full-time employees monthly and receiving positive customer feedback after more than a year of error-free operation.
