Fette Measures Tablet Press Components Automatically with Leitz PMM-F

Fette Compacting GmbH, a manufacturer of tablet presses, needed to improve the inspection process for its high-precision machine components to increase productivity, minimize downtime, and ensure stringent quality standards. To meet this challenge, they partnered with Hexagon to find an automated and highly accurate measuring solution.

Hexagon implemented a Leitz PMM-F coordinate measuring machine controlled by QUINDOS software and integrated with an automatic pallet shuttle system. This solution allowed Fette to perform specialized measurements during the day and run fully automated, unattended inspections overnight. The system from Hexagon provided a tenfold increase in accuracy, enabling the reliable measurement of components with tolerances as tight as 12 micrometres, which significantly boosted productivity and ensured watertight results.
