Engineers at Airframe Designs address Boeing 737 compartment design trade-off studies using MSC Apex

Airframe Designs Limited, a UK-based aerospace engineering services company, faced significant industry pressure and a need to modernize its legacy FEA processes to remain competitive. Seeking a solution that integrated with their existing MSC Nastran-based workflow, they assessed several software vendors and partnered with Hexagon to evaluate its next-generation CAE platform, MSC Apex, with the goal of achieving greater efficiency and agility.

Hexagon, with training support from its partner Evotech CAE, implemented MSC Apex. This solution drastically reduced model build times; a specific Boeing 737 stowage compartment project was completed in under three days with Apex, compared to eight or more days with previous tools. This efficiency gain allows Airframe Designs to optimize designs more thoroughly and respond faster to client changes, de-risking projects and helping them prepare for the industry's post-Covid recovery.
