EDGECAM makes food industry scrolling kits a piece of cake

Engineering Solutions & Supply Ltd., a subcontractor serving clients from local industry to the European Space Agency, needed to produce complex feed scroll kits for a food company's conveyor system. Their existing CAM software was unable to create the necessary toolpaths for a new DMC machining centre, resulting in segmented operations, a poor surface finish, and "dig-ins" on the components.

The company chose EDGECAM software from vendor Hexagon to address this challenge. EDGECAM provided a more logical and user-friendly interface, enabling a continuous machining cycle that produced exactly what was modelled. This eliminated the previous dig-ins and delivered a perfect surface finish on the critical feed scrolls, allowing the company to successfully fulfill the new contract.
