Donzé-Baume - Customer Case Study

Donzé-Baume, a manufacturer of high-end watch cases and straps for luxury Swiss watchmakers, faced the challenge of ensuring the absolute precision required for its complex components. To move beyond the limitations of manual tools like jigs and callipers, the company turned to vendor Hexagon for a coordinate metrology solution involving DEA GLOBAL coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

Hexagon's solution involved implementing two DEA GLOBAL CMMs, one in a quality room and another directly on the production floor for random inspections. These machines, using Hexagon's PC-DMIS software, employed both single-point probing and scanning modes to accurately measure complex geometries and freeform surfaces. This allowed Donzé-Baume to considerably raise its quality level, enabling it to measure previously inaccessible internal features and supply components that meet the exacting standards of the world's best watch manufacturers.
