Trio Metall und Design GmbH, a sheet metal subcontractor, faced a significant challenge when orders from its key automotive and mechanical engineering sectors dropped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To adapt, the company worked with vendor Hexagon and its reseller, 3D Concepts, to implement a solution based on Hexagon's RADAN CAD/CAM software to digitize its sales and production processes.
The solution was the development of the "Trionline 24" web shop, which automated quotation preparation and order intake. This system, integrated with RADAN's software and the company's ERP, allowed customers to upload parts and receive quotes within minutes. The measurable impact for the customer was substantial, processing around 500 orders worth over €500,000 through the portal in its first year. This new digital channel helped Trio Metall compensate for the downturn by reaching a broader range of industries and securing orders more cost-effectively.
