Creative Composites, a leading UK-based components manufacturer, faced a challenge in improving the efficiency and throughput of its quality inspection process, which had previously relied on slower, manual laser scanning systems. To meet increasing customer requirements, the company sought a solution from vendor Hexagon.
Working with Hexagon and its local agent, Creative Composites implemented a multisensor CMM equipped with both tactile and laser sensors, powered by Hexagon's PC-DMIS and Q-DAS software. This Hexagon solution dramatically improved inspection speed; a part that once took over a day to measure was completed in just 49 minutes. The technology provided greater accuracy for complex components and enabled advanced data analysis, allowing the company to massively improve its inspection efficiency and process capability.
