Panasonic Ecology Systems, a Panasonic Corporation company focused on improving indoor air quality, needed to validate the safety of its ceiling fans. The challenge was to prevent blade vibration and potential failure caused by external pressures from sources like air-conditioners, requiring a complex co-simulation of fluid and structural forces to understand the fans' behavior under real-world conditions. For this, they utilized solutions from vendor Hexagon.

Hexagon provided its Cradle CFD scFLOW and MSC Nastran software, connected via the MSC CoSim engine, to perform a detailed fluid-structural co-simulation. This solution enabled the company to visualize and analyze complex blade deformation and vibration, leading to successful safety validation and performance improvement of their products.
