CIMIC Group Uses Intergraph Smart® Materials to Assist in Securing New Deal on LNG Mega Project

CIMIC Group, a leading Australian construction company, faced a significant challenge when it was required to manage all materials for a major LNG project, an unusual scenario where it had to handle both client-owned and contractor-supplied materials across multiple sites and subcontractors. To address the complexity of tracking over 1,200km of pipeline and other equipment, they turned to Hexagon and implemented its Intergraph Smart Materials solution.

The solution from Hexagon provided centralized, real-time reporting that allowed CIMIC to share consistent materials data across all parties, accurately forecast needs to avoid schedule delays, and minimize wastage. The effective materials management was instrumental not only in the project's success but also in helping CIMIC secure a subsequent contract from the client. Following this achievement, CIMIC Group deployed the Hexagon software on another major project.
