Chematur Engineering AB, a Swedish company specializing in the design and construction of specialty chemical plants, sought to streamline its engineering workflow to improve efficiency and maintain full project control for its rapidly growing business, particularly in Asia. To address this challenge, they partnered with vendor Hexagon to implement its plant design and information management technology.

Hexagon’s solutions, including Intergraph Smart 3D and SmartPlant Foundation, provided a database-centric system that enabled full worksharing between global teams. This implementation resulted in a 20 percent reduction in engineering labor hours, a 10 to 15 percent cut in on-site rework, and an estimated reduction of at least 10 percent in total installed costs for their plants.
