Canal de Experiencias Hidrodinámicas de El Pardo - Customer Case Study

Canal de Experiencias Hidrodinámicas de El Pardo (CEHIPAR), a Spanish naval research institute, required accurate 3D measurement capabilities to inspect propeller prototypes and boat fairings. Their work, aimed at improving vessel safety and efficiency, needed a portable and flexible solution that could be used both in their labs and on-site at events. Hexagon provided their ROMER Absolute Arm, a portable measuring arm with PC-DMIS software, to meet this challenge.

The Hexagon solution enabled CEHIPAR to easily gather highly accurate 3D data for quality control on a variety of projects, from propeller analysis to ensuring the symmetry of Olympic-class rowing and sailing boats. The arm’s portability allowed engineers to take measurements without moving large objects and to conduct off-site work, such as at a high-performance sailing center. The partnership with Hexagon provided CEHIPAR with a flexible and powerful tool that delivered reliable results, helping athletes and shipbuilders optimize their equipment for better performance.
