CAESAR II® Proves to be an Essential Tool in Amiantit’s SHARQ Project

Saudi Arabian Amiantit Company, a leading pipe manufacturer, faced challenges on a major ethylene glycol project due to the scale and unique orthotropic materials of its GRP piping systems. The company needed to perform fast, accurate stress analyses on 11 kilometers of piping to prevent costly failures, product loss, and schedule overruns. To address this, they turned to vendor Hexagon and its CAESAR II software.

Hexagon's CAESAR II solution provided accurate analysis of the complex orthotropic materials, enabling Amiantit to perform stress analyses concurrently with production. This eliminated potential failures at T-junctions, minimized product loss, and prevented costly rework. The software also calculated the center of gravity for massive pipe spools, ensuring safe handling and shipping, which kept the fast-track project on schedule and prevented significant cost increases.
