BWI Airport Deploys Integrated Security and Response Solution

BWI Airport, a major airport with over 21 million annual passengers, needed to enhance its emergency response processes and integrate its numerous safety and security systems. The airport partnered with Hexagon to deploy an integrated command and control solution powered by Hexagon's computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and security software to improve coordination and situational awareness.

Hexagon implemented a fully integrated public safety and security platform for the airport's Consolidated Dispatch Center. The solution provided dispatchers and first responders with complete situational awareness by integrating communications, dispatching, and video monitoring. This allowed the center to efficiently monitor and respond to thousands of alarms. The project was highly successful, earning BWI Airport two awards for security, and ensured increased responsiveness and situational awareness for all personnel.
